the day of love.
Happy Valentine's Day, angels! I hope your February 14th is filled with so much love and happiness, whether that be with a significant other, your family, your friends or most importantly, yourself! 💕
I find that Valentine's Day is the perfect time to reset your personal goals, and give yourself all the love that you deserve. Self-love is the utmost important out of all that you could ever receive, and to perfect it, you must practise it. Whether you're single or taken, it's important to love yourself just as much as you do others.
So, how exactly do you celebrate self-love on Valentine's Day?
Do something you genuinely love.
Spend this day doing something that you love. Whether it's something small, such as journaling, writing or even baking, to a full on pamper session - treat yourself with something that brings you enjoyment. These days, everything is so 'go go go', so take the time to fully immerse yourself in doing something that makes you happy.
Pamper yourself and your body.
Take the time to reward your body - go for a massage, a spa treatment, have a luxury bubble bath. Really let your body relax, and have that moment of self care. While you're at it, pay extra special attention to your skincare routine. Get your nails done, go for a blowout or shop for a whole new outfit. While you're at it, special attention to your sexual needs should also be met, so go all the way.
Have a sweet treat.
Cheat day, or no cheat day don't forget to treat yourself to a box of chocolates . Chocolates, ice cream, macarons, cake - whatever your heart desires.
Take a social media cleanse.
During this self-love indulgence, take a break from social media and come back to it with a fresh outlook. I always take the time to unfollow what no longer serves me purpose, clean up my timelines and review exactly what type of content I'm exposing myself to.
Reflect and seek support.
Giving yourself self-love and self-care can often leave you feeling quite vulnerable and exposed to your feelings, whether you're ready for it or not. Always keep a friend close by, and ensure you have access to a support group if you need it. Whether it's your mental health, or your relationship - remember there's always help around.
Pay your kindness forward.
With all the love and support you're giving yourself, take the time to pass that on to someone. Whether it be a friend, or a family member or better yet, a complete stranger. An act of kindness can literally change a persons day, so be that person and I guarantee what goes around comes around (in the best possible way!)
